In 1974, a hot-headed 19 year old named Michael Peterson decided he wanted to make a name for himself and so, with a homemade sawn-off shotgun and a head full of dreams he attempted to rob a post office. Swiftly apprehended and originally sentenced to 7 years in jail, Peterson has subsequently been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. During that time, Michael Petersen, the boy, faded away and ‘Charles Bronson,’ his superstar alter ego, took center stage. Inside the mind of Bronson – a scathing indictment of celebrity culture.
This was directed by
Nicolas Winding Refn,
famous for the Pusher films. He also directed Valhalla Rising, an impressive , but confusing film, which i didnt fully understand( if it even was intended to be understood).
But he seems to know what he is doing…especially with this one, cuz it left a lasting impression on me.
Tom Hardy is a beast in this one, as an actor and as a character in this movie….i stayed away from seeing it for a while, cuz i felt, that this wasnt an easy movie to watch…or i should say, no fast food movie. This requires your full attention, and if you made it beyond the opening credits, im sure you`re sold for a tour de force of a movie…if not, just hold on and give it a chance…i won`t go into details, cuz it would require another viewing while taking notes all the time.
Let me assure you, this is a must-see !!!!
